IDENTIFICATION OF PATTERNS IN COD BEHAVIOUR

Theme is being used in an ongoing collaborative project, between The Icelandic Marine Research Institute and PatternVision, to analyze the behaviour of tagged cod in Icelandic waters. The main purpose of the cooperation is to obtain new means of working with data from Data Storage Tags (DST) for behavioural research. One future objective is geo-location of cod, by using knowledge of the nature and behaviour of tidal waves in the Icelandic waters, and the study of behaviour of cod in relation to tides and tidal currents. The Icelandic Maritime Administration has acquired a database and a model that is used to model tidal action and currents.
